About Tantra

What does Tantra really mean?

The word “Tantra” comes from Sanskrit and can be translated as “weave” or “fabric”. It refers to the concept of connection and interdependence among all things. In the spiritual context, Tantra focuses on exploring, understanding and harnessing the subtle energies present in the human body and the surrounding reality, seeking spiritual liberation and the expansion of consciousness.

Fundamental aspects of Tantra

  • Non-dualism: Tantra views reality as a single universal energy, manifesting both in the sacred and the mundane. This sets it apart from other more dualistic spiritual paths.
  • Energy work: Through practices such as meditation, mantras, mudras (symbolic gestures), and visualizations, Tantra explores inner energies (prana, kundalini) and their awakening.
  • Reverence for the body: Unlike many ascetic paths, Tantra celebrates the body as a temple of the spirit and a means of attaining enlightenment. Tantric practices use the body and the senses as tools for awareness.
  • Ritual practices: Tantra incorporates sacred ceremonies and rituals aimed at balancing masculine energy (Shiva) and feminine energy (Shakti), symbols of consciousness and creative power.

Western misconception

The reduction of Tantra to its erotic aspect is a distortion that occurred during its Westernization, particularly in the 20th century. Sexual Tantra is a part of the Tantric path, but it represents a minor aspect. In its authentic forms, these practices are not focused on physical pleasure for its own sake but on transcendence and spiritual awakening through sacred union.

Universal Teachings

Tantra invites us to fully live in the present moment, recognizing the sacredness in every aspect of daily life. Its philosophical depth provides practical tools for expanding awareness and harmonizing with the forces of nature. To reduce Tantra solely to a sexual practice is to overlook its richness and transformative potential, which encompasses every aspect of our existence.

What is Tantra Yoga

THE SCIENCE OF ENERGY

Tantra Yoga is a sacred science designed to awaken the full spectrum of human potential.

An exact system, rooted in ancient Traditional Texts, and carried through the living lineages of Kriya Yoga and Kashmir Shaivism. Tantra Yoga is the discipline of energy.

Every movement, every breath, every concentration of the mind is a tool to purify the energetic structure of the human being — body, mind, and spirit — and to unite them into a single, awakened force.

This path does not chase transcendence by denying life; it transforms life itself into a vehicle of consciousness.

The emotions, the senses, the fire of desire: all become fuel for awareness when directed through the right methods.

This is why Tantra Yoga is both precise and alive: a fusion of science and spirit.

WHY TANTRA YOGA IS DIFFERENT

Most modern yoga stops at the body.

Tantra Yoga goes further — it works with Shakti, the vital energy that forms everything in existence.

When guided correctly, this energy becomes the key to deep healing, mental clarity, and spiritual awakening.

Through asanas, pranayama, kriyas, mantras, and meditation, you learn to sense, control, and refine this current within yourself.

You begin to perceive the subtle body, the field of energy that shapes health, emotions, and consciousness.

By mastering it, you master yourself.

THE LINEAGE

With profound gratitude, I acknowledge the initiation into this authentic tradition received from my teacher, Somananda.

A transmission that revealed the living essence of Tantra Yoga as a direct, powerful, and transformative path.

Kashmir Shaivism, the philosophical core of this lineage, teaches that every emotion and experience — anger, joy, stillness, or ecstasy — can become a doorway to the Divine when consciously embraced.

THE PURPOSE

Tantra Yoga is not about escape.

It is about mastery — of mind, energy, and perception.

It builds strength, vitality, and presence, while opening the gate to higher states of awareness.

It is a path of fire and discipline,

for those who seek to live fully awake, to ride the current of life with power, clarity, and grace.

Tantra Yoga is not new. It is eternal.

And for those who practice it with heart and precision — it changes everything.
